Cut Roof Truss Rafter
The verticle supports of this Leesburg Virginia roof truss were removed to allow "access" to a heat pump unit. The truss, which is expected to hold up a part of the roof, is resting on a horizontal 2x4, merely nailed at each end. This truss didn't reach the bottom of the roof below, so it was cut and another was sistered beside it that did reach. I might mention that this framing technique was supposedly approved by the county inspector.
